Access your Mailbox for the first time:
1.) From your room, dial 7-0000 (Elsewhere, dial 740-597-0000)
2.) When the system answers, press #
3.) Enter your mailbox number (the
last 5 digits of your phone number)
4.) Enter the default security code 457011
Choose a new security code:
1.) When prompted, enter a new security code and press # (your security code
should be at least 4 digits long and known only to you)
Record your name:
1.) To start recording, press 1 and wait for the beep
2.) To finish recording, press #
(Your recorded name should just be just that -- your first and last name, and
possibly your roommates name(s) as well. The system uses this to identify your mailbox to other Voice Mail users.)
Record a Personal Greeting:
1.) To start recording, press 1 and wait for the beep
2.) To finish recording, press #
(Your personal greeting functions like an answering machine message - make sure you include your name as well.)
Setup is now complete
Once your setup is complete all you need to remember is your security
code. All other functions are menu prompted. There is no need to
contact OIT unless you are having a problem.
Basic Functions:
Entering and Exiting your Mailbox:
1.) From your room, dial 7-0000 (Elsewhere, dial 740-597-0000)
2.) When the system answers, press #
3.) Enter your mailbox or # if calling from your own room
4.) Enter your security code
To exit your Mailbox
From the 'Ready' prompt, press 99
(If you hang up on your mailbox without first pressing 99, any changes made during that session will be lost, and messages you listened to will not be erased.)
Listening to Messages:
From the 'Ready' prompt, press 5
(Every time you press 5, the system goes to the next message in your box)
Save a message:
During or immediately after playing a message, press 7
(Pressing 7 in the middle of a message will acknowledge your choice and resume the message)
Erase a message:
During or immediately after playing a message, press 3
Access Saved Messages:
1.) From the 'Ready' prompt, press 192
2.) Press 5 to start listening
You may press 0 at the 'Ready' prompt for additional help and features
