BOC Transition: Special DialNet Instructions

Dialing "9 +" for local calls will not work with Verizon telephone service. To continue using DialNet after you convert your Bobcat Off Campus line to Verizon, you'll need to remove the "9" from your DialNet settings. To do this, follow the appropriate set of instructions below.

If your system is not covered here, or if you have problems getting DialNet to work with Verizon service, please contact the Support Desk.

Changing the setting in Windows 95/98:

  1. Double-Click on "My Computer"
  2. Double-Click on "Dial-Up Networking"
  3. Right-Click on "DialNet"
  4. Click "Properties"
  5. Select "General Tab"
  6. Remove the "9"
  7. Click "OK"

Changing the setting in Windows 2000/XP:

  1. Right-Click on "My Network Places"
  2. Click "Properties"
  3. Right-Click on "DialNet"
  4. Click "Properties"
  5. Select "General Tab"
  6. Remove the "9"
  7. Click "OK"
Changing the setting in Mac OS 7.5.5 - 8.1:

  1. Select "Apple Menu"
  2. Select "Control Panels"
  3. Select "PPP Control Panel"
  4. Remove the "9"
  5. Be sure to save

Changing the setting in Mac OS 8.5 - 9.2.2

  1. Select "Apple Menu"
  2. Select "Control Panel"
  3. Select "Remote Access Control Panel"
  4. Remove the "9"
  5. Be sure to save

Changing the setting in Mac OS X

  1. Select "Applications"
  2. Select "Internet Connect"
  3. Select "Your Configuration"
  4. Remove the "9"
  5. Be sure to save
