Voice Mail Features

Ohio University's voice mail gives you the convenience of an answering machine without the associated headaches. There are no tapes or equipment to break, no power cubes to plug into the wall, and no battery backups to keep charged.

Voice mail also can be used alone or in combination with Automatic Call Distribution to create customized voice menu systems for general departmental numbers.

E-Mail Delivery, Notify and Forward

Delivers a copy of each message as a sound file attachment to the e-mail address or addresses of your choice.
Sends a notification e-mail to the address or addresses of your choice when new voice mail messages arrive. Can be used to send text notifications to an SMS-enabled cell phone.
Allows you to selectively forward messages from your voice mailbox to a specific e-mail address.

Mobile Path

Lets you specify up to three "find me" numbers.
When a caller presses "1" while listening to your voice mail greeting, Mobile Path attempts to transfer that call to your "find me" number(s) in the order you specified. If the system is unable to reach you, or if you choose not to accept the call, the caller is returned to your mailbox and given the option of leaving a message.

Rates

Basic Voice Mail - $3.75 per month plus $23.00 installation.
E-Mail Delivery and Mobile Path* - Free with faculty and staff Basic Voice Mail.

* When ordering a new mail box, please specify whether you wish one or both of these features enabled. For existing mailboxes, you can have E-Mail Delivery and/or Mobile Path enabled for free by calling 3-1000 and placing a work order.
