Configuring mobilePath
Because these steps require the use of a web browser, you may wish to print this page out for easy reference.
Make Sure your Voice Mail Box and Features are Active
If this is a new voice mail box, make sure you have followed the steps for activating Basic Voice Mail before continuing with these instructions.
Log in to EVM
If you have never logged into the EVM web page, please follow the Steps for First Time Users before continuing.
Configure mobilePath
To allow the system to track you down at one or more "Find Me" locations when a caller presses 1 during your voice mail greeting:
- Go to the EVM for mobilePath tab.
- In the First Location box, enter the telephone number of your first "Find Me" location.
- Enter the number exactly as you would dial it from your desk telephone. For example, an Athens local number should be entered as 9 + number (IE 95551234), while a campus extension would require just the last 5 digits (IE 31234).
- You may specify a second and third location in the supplied boxes, but each added location will add at least 30 seconds to the time your caller spends on hold while the system attempts to find you.
- In the Pager Number box, you can choose to enter your pager number.
- Enter the number exactly as you would dial it from your desk telephone.
- If mobilePath is unable to find you and you have entered a pager number here, callers are given the option to enter their callback number and have you paged. The number that appears on your pager will be the number entered by the caller. If your pager displays your mailbox number after the caller's number, that means that the caller also may have left you a voice message in your mailbox.
- If you leave this box blank, the system will not give callers the option of leaving a page.
- In the Screen Mode box, choose one of the following:
- Speak My Name - Plays back the recorded name that you created when you first set up your voice mailbox. This is mostly useful when the Find Me location telephone will be answered by someone other than you.
- Record Caller's Name - Prompts the caller to speak his/her name before transferring. Then plays that name back when you answer at your Find Me location.
- Speak Caller ID - Speaks the caller ID number when you answer at your Find Me location.
- Regardless of which option you choose for Screen Mode, you will have the option of accepting or rejecting each mobilePath call. Callers will not be able to tell the difference between a rejected call and a call which simply was unable to reach you.
- Click Enable.
- Click Submit Changes.
