Make Sure your Voice Mail Box and Features are Active
If this is a new voice mail box, make sure you have followed the steps for activating Basic Voice Mail before continuing with these instructions.
If this is an existing voice mail box, you must call 3-1000 to have extended features enabled on your account before proceeding.
Log Into EVM for the First Time
- Open a web browser and visit https://vmail.cns.ohiou.edu.
- Make sure the URL begins with "https" rather than "http".
- In the appropriate boxes, enter your mailbox number and the default PIN, "1234".
- Click Login.
Change your PIN
- Click Change PIN.
- Follow the prompts to choose a new PIN.
- This PIN is stored separately from your voice mailbox security code. For convenience, you may wish to use the same number for both your mailbox security code and your EVM web PIN. Just remember that changing one does not change the other.
Enter your Voice Mailbox Security Code
This section is for E-Mail Delivery, Notify & Forwarding users only. If you only are using mobilePath, you may skip this section.
- Go to the EVM for Octel tab.
- In the Voice Mailbox Security Code box, enter the security code that you normally use when dialing into your voice mailbox.
- The EVM system uses this security code to log into your voice mailbox to access messages for delivery and forwarding. If you ever change your mailbox security code, you will need to update it here as well.
- Click Submit Changes.
