Configuring E-Mail Delivery, Notify & Forwarding

Because these steps require the use of a web browser, you may wish to print this page out for easy reference.

Make Sure your Voice Mail Box and Features are Active

If this is a new voice mail box, make sure you have followed the steps for activating Basic Voice Mail before continuing with these instructions.

Log in to EVM

If you have never logged into the EVM web page, please follow the Steps for First Time Users before continuing.

E-Mail Delivery

To have the voice mail system deliver copies of incoming voice mail messages as sound file attachments to the e-mail address or addresses of your choice:

  • Go to the EVM for Avaya tab
  • In the evmDelivery box, make the following selections:
    • Voice: Choose All
      • We do not recommend choosing Urgent, as most voice mail users do not flag their messages as Urgent.
      • Choosing None will disable E-Mail delivery.
    • Email 1: Enter the e-mail address where you wish to receive your voice mail messages and check Active.
      • Use commas to separate multiple addresses in the Email 1 box.
      • You can use Email 2 and Email 3 to selectively enable/disable additional delivery addresses. Checking the appropriate Active box enables delivery to all addresses on that line.
    • Attachment Format: Windows users, choose GSM. Mac users, choose MP3.
    • Deliver all messages since: All messages in your voicemail box on and after this date will be delivered to your email, regardless whether they have been listened to or are new messages.
  • Click Submit Changes.

E-Mail Notify

Our voice mail system can send out e-mail notifications when you receive incoming voice mail messages. This feature often is used to send text notifications to an SMS-capable cell phone. Please note that these notification e-mails do not include the actual sound file attachment.

To enable this feature, follow these steps:

  • Go to the EVM for Avaya tab.
  • In the evmNotify box, make the following selections:
    • Notify for: Choose All Msgs or 1st New Msg.
      • We do not recommend choosing Urgent Msgs, as most voice mail users do not flag their messages as Urgent.
    • Email 1: Enter the e-mail address where you wish to receive your e-mail notifications and check Active.
  • Click Submit Changes.
