Manually Updating Virus Definitions
When a virus first appears, there can be a lag of several hours before your copy of McAfee or Virex can update itself automatically. To avoid this uprotected period, you can manually update your virus definition files.
Windows
- Right click the McAfee "shield" icon in your Windows system tray.
(Example)
- Choose "Update Now..."
Macintosh
- Open your Virex folder and double-click on the Virex icon.
- In the resulting Virex window, click the eUpdate button. (Example)
