Entourage for Mac (Classic and OSX) Secure Configurations

New Accounts

Go to the Tools menu and select Accounts.

Click the New button, and select configure account manually.

Select "POP3" or "IMAP" (preferably IMAP) and click the Ok button.

In the "Your Name" field, enter your name as you would have it appear on outgoing mail.

In the "E-Mail Address" field, enter your Oak email address ("username"@ohio.edu).

In the "Account ID" field, enter your Oak username. This is equal to the portion of your Oak email address before the "@" symbol.

In the "IMAP" field, enter "oak.cats.ohiou.edu".

In the "SMTP" field, enter the outgoing mail (SMTP) mail server provided by your internet service provider. If you are on campus or are using DialNet, you should enter "oak.cats.ohiou.edu".

Select "Click here for advanced receiving options".

Select "This IMAP services requires SSL". Do not alter the port setting ("993" or "995").

Select "Click here for advanced sending options".

Confirm that "This server requires SSL" is NOT selected.

Click Ok.

Close the Accounts window to start using Entourage.

Existing Accounts

Go to Tools and select Accounts.
Select your account from the Mail tab.
Select "Click here for advanced receiving options".
Select "This IMAP services requires SSL". Do not alter the port setting ("993" or "995").
Select "Click here for advanced sending options".
Confirm that "This server requires SSL" is NOT selected.
Click Ok.
Close the Accounts window to start using Entourage
