Creating Local
Folders in
Mulberry
Mulberry normally stores all messages
directly on your Oak account. This
makes it easy to access your mail from
more than one location; however, it can
pose problems if you regularly receive
large attachments or want to archive
all of your messages.
Local folders allow you to free up
space on your Oak account by moving
selected email messages to your
computer's hard drive. Once you move a
message to a local folder, it will no
longer use up space on your Oak
account; however, it also will only be
accessible from that particular computer.
Creating a Local Mailbox
- Go to Mulberry's File menu and
choose Preferences.
- Make sure the Advanced radio button
is selected.
- On the Accounts tab, click the IMAP
drop-down box and choose New.
- Type a name for your new local
mailbox, choose "Local Mailbox" from
the dropdown box, and click Ok. (Example)
- Go to Mulberry's IMAP window and
right-click (Apple-click for Mac) on
your new local mailbox. Choose "Create"
and enter a name for your new local
folder.
- You can create as many or as few
local folders as you like.
- To move messages from Oak to a
local folder, simply drag those
messages from their Oak mailbox window
and drop them on the appropriate local
folder entry in your IMAP window.
